South Africa's only ICT-focused recruitment portal, CareerWeb, has introduced a new feature that allows jobseekers to be automatically logged into www.careerweb.co.za by using applications such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Gmail.
"Usually, a user would have either of these applications open on their computer, so if they visit CareerWeb, they will automatically be logged in, without having to enter their CareerWeb login," says Ernie Hipner, business development director at CareerWeb.
He says the feature will make accessing CareerWeb far easier: "We decided to make remaining connected to CareerWeb more convenient and faster for the candidates using our Web site. If they are already logged into any of these applications, they do not need to re-enter their CareerWeb login details - they will be logged into CareerWeb automatically and will be able to immediately go about utilising the site to find their ideal jobs."
Hipner says, initially, the candidate will be required to click on either of the application logos on the CareerWeb front page, where it will ask them to authorise the access. "Going forward, you will automatically be logged into CareerWeb should you have this application open on your computer."
He says CareerWeb is the only recruitment Web site in the country that currently offers this functionality.
