Caringo ups cloud offering

maker Caringo added three new system-related products to its catalogue on 19 June, eWeek reports.

The Austin, Texas-based company, whose market sweet spots are midrange and larger enterprises, debuted its new Elastic Content , CloudScaler and Indexer products, which run on its front-line Object Storage Platform, powered by CAStor.

eChannelLine quotes Mark Goros, CEO of Caringo, as saying: "We think the addition of these three new products really completes our cloud storage stack."

The company now offers a stack of software appliances with full and efficient interoperability, that provides cloud storage flexible enough to use for private or public clouds and which seamlessly scales from terabytes to petabytes. They view the complete stack as providing a major advantage over open source or multi-vendor solutions.

According to The Sacramento Bee, by providing the entire stack, Caringo is able to ensure high-performance, simple management and interoperability between all components, significantly reducing the complexity associated with open source or cobbled-together solutions.

"With the adoption of cloud technologies at an all-time high, the importance of developing interoperable solutions that make it easier for customers to implement into their computing environments is a key consideration," said Kevin Kluge, VP of products at Citrix. "What Caringo has done is give organisations the ability to integrate their enterprise-grade object storage solution into any platform, and when combined with Citrix CloudPlatform and Apache CloudStack, improves time-to-market for service providers and larger enterprises."
