Computer Associates International, Inc (CA) today announced the general availability of AllFusion Harvest Change Manager (AllFusion Harvest CM), its powerful software configuration management solution that helps ensure consistent, rapid delivery of business applications built with IBM`s WebSphere Studio Version 5.0.
Using AllFusion Harvest CM, developers can perform critical change management tasks directly from the WebSphere Studio environment - making it easy to enforce effective change management control.
The new release also supports a wide range of other leading development platforms, including Microsoft Visual Studio .NET and Sybase PowerBuilder, enabling developers to work within the environment they prefer. It also integrates into the open source community`s Eclipse 2.0 platform. This interoperability makes AllFusion Harvest CM an ideal change management solution for today`s multi-platform enterprise IT environments.
"The new AllFusion Harvest CM WebSphere solution is robust, developer- focused and very intuitive," said Brian C Hurdis, senior vice-president and chief information officer of Metavante Corporation, the technology subsidiary of Marshall & Ilsley Corporation. "As usage of the Eclipse plug-in increases, we anticipate that this integration will significantly streamline common development CM tasks."
By defining and automating repeatable processes and providing control and accountability across all stages of the software development process, AllFusion Harvest CM maximises both the quality of developed applications and the productivity of development teams.
"AllFusion Harvest Change Manager simplifies WebSphere application development by enabling us to implement changes knowing that they have been fully tested and approved before being introduced into our production environment," said Niels-K. Soegaard, project manager at Danske Bank in Denmark. "It also provides practical process automation that helps streamline the entire software development lifecycle."
AllFusion Harvest CM provides control over all stages of the software development process to improve the quality, reliability and auditability of traditional and Web-based applications while improving developer productivity. It is the recipient of the 2002 LinuxWorld Open Source Product Excellence Award for Best Development Tool and the Java Development Journal "Best Code Protection Tool" award for 2001.
"Today`s IT organisations must continue to drive error and inefficiency out of their software development processes," said Gregory Clancy, AllFusion brand manager at CA. "That`s why CA continues to evolve our award-winning change and configuration management solutions to automate lifecycle management processes in our customers` integrated development environments."
Allfusion Harvest Change Manager is a component of CA`s AllFusion Change Management Suite, which provides state-of-the-art solutions for controlling change, managing complexity, and automating IT change management processes.
