CA`s relationship with Oracle under spotlight at User Group Conference

Johannesburg, 28 Oct 2002

Computer Associates International`s (CA) close technical partnership with Oracle Corporation will be highlighted at this year`s South African Oracle User Group (SAOUG) Conference at Sun City on 28 and 29 October.

The partnership between CA and Oracle is based on an enterprise management initiative providing key infrastructure solutions to the Oracle market.

CA has demonstrated its commitment to this partnership by validating its enterprise management solutions on the latest releases of Oracle9i software.

For example, Unicenter Management for Oracle9i database delivers a comprehensive solution for Oracle customers, increasing the reliability and availability of the Oracle9i database - thereby enhancing operation and improving end-user service levels.

Providing more information on the CA-Oracle partnership at the SAOUG Conference will be Christopher Elvin, a UK-based senior business technologist at CA.

One of the key presenters, his paper, entitled Making your Oracle Web Applications 80% Faster, will centre on the accelerating rate of development of e-business applications today which, he says, is faster than the growth of the skills base of Oracle database designers, developer and administrators.

"This often leads to inefficiencies within e-business applications with a resultant loss of Web-based business for the users," says Elvin.

His presentation will take place on Tuesday, 29 October in the Conference Centre`s Ballroom A from 16h20 to 17h10.
