Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA) has announced the release of Unicenter TNG Remote Control Option (RCO) 5.1, the industry`s most complete solution for managing distributed IT resources. The new version makes it easy for IT staff to manage a full range of eBusiness devices - including point-of-sale kiosks, automated teller machines, and Web-enabled manufacturing equipment - over private networks, the Internet, or low-bandwidth wireless links.
Version 5.1 also features enhanced integration with the software delivery and asset management options of Unicenter TNG. These integration facilities allow customers to further automate remote management tasks through rules-based policies.
By providing simplified, comprehensive control of geographically dispersed computing assets and eBusiness devices, Unicenter TNG RCO 5.1 reduces the ongoing cost of ownership for computing assets and maximizes end-to-end service levels - thereby boosting the overall return-on-investment for next-generation eBusiness deployments.
Unlike other remote control tools that offer limited automation, Unicenter TNG RCO`s architecture allows for the definition of asset groupings and policies so essential for automated management of the distributed enterprise.
CA`s enhancement of Unicenter TNG RCO, with support for new types of remote eBusiness devices, was driven by the growing use of such devices as part of corporate marketing and customer service strategies.
Unicenter TNG RCO 5.1 also offers strong encryption and access control functions to protect remote devices from a wide range of security threats that could otherwise threaten eBusiness services. Such protection is particularly critical for assets in the field that may not be physically protected from tampering or inadvertent misuse in the same way as office desktops and servers.
Unicenter TNG RCO 5.1 is available under CA ` s new simplified licensing model.
