Casey launches consulting company

JSE-listed Casey Group has launched a new consulting subsidiary, Casey Consulting, to focus on consultancy-based business solutions.

Casey is an IT holding company whose subsidiaries focus mainly on computer hardware, and consulting, , on-site management and development.

The formation of Casey Consulting comes after the refocusing of Casey Networking & Consulting, a group subsidiary that, until recently, handled both networking and consulting.

Casey Consulting MD Ebrahim Waheb says his subsidiary was "refocused and relaunched" as a result of the acquisition in January of Johannesburg-based networking company Comnet.

"Comnet has been rebranded Casey Networking and will be focusing on the networking arena, especially on the mid-sized market sector," he says. "This meant there were certain duplications and business overlaps with Casey Networking & Consulting, and this was the reason for its refocus."

Casey Networking now also operates as a subsidiary within the Casey Group.

Waheb says the rebranded Casey Consulting will focus on "business consulting, especially for the SMME (small, micro and medium enterprises) market". Main areas of expertise will include point-of-sale and accounting solutions, with the company also planning to concentrate more strongly on consulting in the SAP enterprise resource planning market space from next year.

Waheb says while Casey Consulting has yet to make any significant impact on the group`s bottom-line, it will become an "important profit contributor" within the next two to three years.
