Cash in on e-travel with flights.com partnership

E-travel agency flights.com is offering Web site owners the opportunity to cash in on the growing e-travel market.

With flights.com`s new worldwide partnership programme, Web site owners earn commission on travel bookings by placing the flights.com booking engine on their sites. All back office and fulfilment functions are handled by flights.com.

Partners can register online at www.flights.com and select one of several versions of the flight-booking engine to be integrated on their sites. On approval of the application, the new partner receives a URL allowing it to load the booking engine into a frame on its pages.

"The flights.com partnership will make the affiliate Web site more attractive, boost traffic and provide an additional revenue stream without any initial investment," says Richard Somogyvari, flights.com South Africa chief executive.

Becoming a partner allows affiliates access to flights.com`s database of privately negotiated fares. "Flights.com has an average 30 million airfares on its Web site," he says.

Somogyvari points out that travel is already the largest revenue generator in business-to-consumer e-commerce. Yet, e-travel still accounts for only 3% of the total travel market.

However, analysts predict online reservations will surge from $2.1 billion two years ago to $30 billion this year.

"The flights.com partnership programme is the ideal entry into a valuable and rapidly growing industry," notes Somogyvari.
