The national distributor of Philips LCD projectors, Solution Technologies, has set up shop in Cape Town to meet a growing need for service and support in the region.
Having operated from Johannesburg for the past ten years, Don Matthews, MD at Solution Technologies, says the majority of his company`s blue chip customers have offices in both centres and wanted to be able to source parts and equipment from either.
"We have been under a lot of pressure to supply these regions. This means that products which were shipped to Johannesburg for support and service can now be dealt with by our new Cape-based office."
Nalini Singh-Hofer, LCD product manager of Philips, says the company`s move is indicative of an increased demand for LCD projector-based presentations by corporates in the Cape.
"The region accounts for around 20 percent of Philips SA`s business. With more direct representation we expect to double this figure."
