Computer Configurations Holdings Limited (CCH) announced today that Rob Shuter has decided to resign from the group, to return to a career in the financial services industry.
In August Rob Shuter expressed concern about a future outside the investment banking sector which concern has culminated in his decision to leave the group.
"I have been in investment banking for most of my career," he said, "and this is where my heart really lies. Whilst I sincerely regret that I did not realise this sooner, all I can say is that I believe I made an honest mistake and am now rectifying it".
Commenting, Mario Pinheiro, Chairman of CCH, said:
"Rob recognises that he has made a mistake and clearly we are disappointed. Fortunately, the depth of management is such at CCH that we are able to replace Rob as COO, with Andrew Sims.
"Andrew joined the group as Managing Director of Computer Configurations (Pty) Limited, which he has been running very successfully for the past five years, producing year on year growth of 60%. He has the appropriate operational experience to do the job and is an IT man through and through."
Rob Shuter will remain with CCH until 4th December 1999 to ensure the completion of a particular project he is undertaking.
Andrew Paul Sims
Andrew is the managing director of Computer Configurations (Pty) Ltd. Prior to joining the business in 1995, Andrew held the positions of financial director at Compaq Computers (Proprietary) Limited, managing director at Lasernet (Proprietary) Limited and financial director at Primary Computer Systems (Proprietary) Limited and spent eight years at HP SA as a financial manager.
