Power cabling and reticulation specialist CCI Technology Holdings has been appointed a systems integrator for Clipsal`s C-Bus range of energy management systems, by Jasco, Clipsal`s South African distributor.
Patrick Brady, manager of CCI Power Solutions, says the C-Bus range of corporate energy management systems enable effective cost management of electrical systems, including lighting. He says companies installing these systems can expect a return on investment within two years through reduced operating costs.
When Clipsal products are integrated with other-vendor systems such as air-conditioning, irrigation etc, this makes up a complete building management solution in the corporate space, Brady adds.
Kobus Botha, smart buildings solutions area manager at Jasco (Western Cape), says the system runs on software developed by Clipsal, which can be pre-programmed to switch lights on and off, dim them, or send a variety of pre-programmed pulses to other electrical equipment, according to the wishes of the user.
"The input systems (light switches, infra-red sensors, smoke detectors etc.) run off a low-voltage bus, meaning control of output units (light bulbs and other-vendor units such as heaters, security systems etc.) can be exercised from any input unit through simple pre-programming.
On the domestic front, CCI`s solutions allow for alarm setting, irrigation settings, mood and scene setting through lighting, etc. System management commands can be issued telephonically, as the systems can accommodate an IVR module.
Jasco`s Botha says CCI was appointed because of its active marketing of C-Bus equipment and its technical expertise.
Brady adds that CCI is Clipsal`s sole systems integrator in the Western Cape region, but points out that it is represented nationally. CCI will also manage the warranty and support for the gear.
C-Bus solutions are aimed at corporate, SoHo and domestic markets.
