CCI invests in fast growing networking industry

CCI Technology Holdings has become one of South Africa`s largest independent IT convergence companies with the addition of a networking division to its fast growing cabling, PABX, power and building automation divisions. CCI aims now to develop a countrywide presence and to also expand into neighbouring Southern African states.

By leveraging close to 15 years` experience in physical IT infrastructure provision, CCI plans to initially capture 10 percent of the South African market for networking equipment and services, with special emphasis on the SME (small and medium enterprises) sector.

"It is our objective to become the primary revenue earner for the CCI group within a year," states Patrick Heynecke, divisional manager of CCI Network Solutions. "We believe we have the know-how, products and experience to attain this goal. Certainly the flood of inquiries and orders suggests our confidence is well founded."

The company`s solutions are built around two highly reputable brands, Lucent and 3Com, whose complementary leading-edge technologies cover the full spectrum of customer requirements, from the small/home office to the corporate enterprise.

"One of our primary focuses is to become the highest accredited integrator of Lucent and 3Com products in South Africa," says Heynecke.

Network Solutions will operate separately from the remainder of the Group, with the necessary in-house technical, sales and marketing skills and capabilities to satisfy the demands of corporate networking customers. The intention is to establish a full national presence by the end of this year.

Steve Pinkney, CEO of CCI Technology Holdings, says the formation of the networking division is a logical expansion of the group`s well-entrenched reticulation business.

"Over the past 15 years we have established ourselves as market leaders in the provision of physical network infrastructure. Now, with the rapid convergence of technologies we are positioning CCI as a provider of end-to-end connectivity solutions encompassing voice, data, power, reticulation and project management.

"The group now has the expertise to supply, install and maintain literally everything from the physical cabling, the power, the network and the PABX. There is no doubt that this is the direction the market is moving into, and CCI is positioned firmly in the vanguard of the convergence revolution."

Pinkney concludes that the Group is now perfectly positioned to execute its plans to expand both nationally and in neighbouring Namibia.
