CEB Networks has signed an agreement to resell Trispen Technologies` IP-Granite range of virtual private network products and solutions in Southern Africa. CEB will be able to offer their clients secure networks with full encryption tunnelling from workstation to hosting server right throughout the country.
The IP-Granite product suite also forms part of a multimillion-rand network infrastructure roll-out undertaken by CEB in Africa. According to account manager Charlene Negus, CEB chose Trispen because of the technology characteristics of its VPNs.
"The biggest advantage at this stage is that Trispen`s products runs from point to point as far as security goes, while other competing products will only offer from the router down to the router receiving on the other side. The quick roll-out time and flexibility for remote management and support constitutes for a big cost saving."
Trispen channel manager Chris Cumming says this proves that locally produced products can stand their ground and compete with known brands from the US market.
"Because the IP-Granite product suite is a locally developed product, CEB will be closer to the source of development and, although CEB will be able to offer first and second level of support, CEB will be closer to the support source in the unlikely event of any major problem."
Trispen states that it supports CEB`s intent to focus a major part of its efforts in Africa to meet the growing demand for technology in the evolving market. "There is an IT infrastructure revolution going on in Africa and by focusing on our back doorstep, we are getting involved at the ground floor and the networks are being created securely from the word go and not brought in as an afterthought," Cumming continues.
"All the developing emerging economies are realising that IT and communication infrastructures have to be brought up to First World standards if they are to attract foreign investment coming into the country as foreign investment requires solid IT and communication infrastructure to able to operate successfully. Local companies are starting to realise that the market is not their own internal market anymore, but a global market, and they are wanting to create information highways that will enable them to communicate throughout the international market as global players."
Trispen Technologies designs and develops new products that enable the networked economy. The security of sensitive or confidential information is one of the cornerstones of e-commerce and the new economy - where companies and industries are increasingly linked over a public network such as the Internet. The staff of Trispen Technologies has many years of in-depth experience in developing security products for the networked environment.
