The partnership, effective from 1 August, will see Smollan take over Cell C's merchandising and trade function. The operator believes Smollan's contribution will improve customer experience when interacting with the Cell C brand in-store.
Partnerships seem to be the strategy driving Cell C's bid to improve overall customer service. Last month, the operator announced a partnership with Merchants to manage and operate its customer call centre.
“We have implemented several initiatives this year with our customers as focus point. We have revamped our franchise model to improve Cell C's ability to service customers better, and 110 new stores with a customer-centric interior design have been rolled out to improve overall customer experience,” says Cell C CEO Lars Reichelt.
Also this year, Cell C partnered with Nokia Siemens Networks and ZTE in rolling out its 4G network, and Huawei in overhauling its IT systems.
"In order for Cell C to become a world-class service provider, we need to establish successful working partnerships. These partnerships enable us to focus on our core activity and allow expert service providers to manage other areas of the business in a more efficient and effective manner," concludes Reichelt.
