CenterField secures local rights to Create!form product suite

Johannesburg, 26 May 2004

CenterField Software has broadened its product range with the agency for the Create!form suite of electronic form and document output management products.

The distribution and reseller agreement sees CenterField selling and supporting the product itself.

"We can take this product to market quite quickly," says Julian Field, MD of CenterField Software. "As demand grows we will explore establishing a channel to support it."

Create!form used to enjoy a close partnership with JD Edwards, now owned by PeopleSoft, with the solution having been designed to generate forms from JD Edwards applications.

CenterField will initially target these users: of which there are about 160 in SA. The company will also explore extending Create!form`s associations with Accenture and Deloitte & Touche into the local market.

Create!form allows users to reformat their existing output structure without programming changes. It also allows customisation of applications and documents, integrating seamlessly with midrange operating systems, including Windows, AS/400 and Unix.

Essentially, Create!form replaces expensive printed forms by creating electronic documents that can be centrally managed, distributed and archived.

Benefits include enhanced document formatting, eliminating manual bursting and collating, e-mail and fax delivery and automated archiving with Internet retrieval capability.

The product designs forms using the business`s ordinary reports or output data in either PDF or plain text form, depending on the company`s needs, and virtually draws the new, customised form over it. The process does not interfere with drilldown functions.

Create!form can be integrated with processes and systems without re-engineering existing applications.

Non-technical users can design customised forms that can be centrally managed and distributed, adding efficiencies to the entire output process. "Create!form picks up a flat file and allows users to format it. That means there are no programming hooks into the ERP solution, no customising and no development work required," says Field.

The product already serves a variety of markets around the world, including manufacturing, distribution, health, government, finance, insurance and education.

Create!form has established partnerships with ERP and print vendors, including IBM, PeopleSoft, Sun, Oracle, Hewlett-Packard, Xerox and Lexmark International.
