The announcement of Oracle certification for Seagate Crystal Reports completes the list of credentials required by a Business Intelligence (BI) vendor to compliment a data warehouse, ERP, EIS or DSS solution.
According to Seagate Software regional marketing manager, Vivek Thomas, the company`s ubiquitous desktop and Web-reporting tool is optimised for Oracle`s e-business warehouse product line. "Seagate Crystal Reports has met all the technical requirements of Oracle`s warehouse category product certification programme.
"The `e-certified warehouse` designation is only awarded to products that meet a set of stringent integration requirements and pass a battery of tests conducted by VeriTest, an independent test laboratory in the US," he adds.
Thomas says the warehouse category of the programme is designed specifically to identify BI and data warehousing products that offer high levels of integration with Oracle`s own warehouse products. "Certification of Crystal Reports means Oracle customers now have access to an independently tested Web-reporting system for accessing, analysing, reporting and sharing corporate data."
According to Michael Howard, vice president, Data Warehouse Program Office at Oracle, the certification reduces risk inherent in the product evaluation process and offers proven integration with Oracle technology. Thomas continues: "Oracle`s e-certification enhances the value of our business intelligence solution further extends our customers` ability to maximise return on investment and assists in achieving sustained competitive advantage."
Seagate Software develops products, such as Seagate Crystal Reports, that help in making effective use of data by accessing, analysing and reporting on shared corporate information.
Oracle Warehouse is designed to offer all the resources needed to design, build, deploy and maintain a data warehouse. It includes various technology and service components including: a proven technology foundation, a collection of analytic applications that deliver end-user and executive value, professional services, as well as access to extensive partner expertise.
Seagate Software Products are now certified by SAP, Baan, Oracle, Microsoft, Lotus, Great Plains and JD Edwards, which means that endusers looking for a BI solution can rest assured that our offerings will suit their infrastructure be it Data Warehouse, ERP, DSS or EIS." concludes Thomas.
