iFACTORY Consulting, an Oracle gold partner specializing in ERP deployments, has been an Oracle partner since 2004. During this time we have matured and modified our deployment methods, support practices and consulting ability thanks to a wide variety clients in multiple industries. Successful deployment and continued support of our clients has allowed iFACTORY to grow to over 60 consultants in South Africa. We have repeatedly raised the bar with regards to successful Oracle ERP deployments by using to the world class practices, as mandated by Oracle, as well as adding a local flavor to give our clients the best of both worlds.
During this journey it has been difficult to remain true to why we established our company and why people chose to work with us - due to the demands by clients for quicker deployments, numerous new Oracle acquisitions and a challenging business landscape. In 2012 this has been amplified - Cloud, virtual workers and Software as a Service are all putting pressure on the South African consulting companies to reassess their value proposition to clients and employees.
Which brings us back to why we established iFACTORY Consulting in the beginning.
We wanted to form an organisation of highly motivated consultants who could make a significant impact through the delivery of business solutions using the Oracle technology in a meaningful way. This requires a high level of interaction between our consultants and the management team - to ensure that we are on track and focused. Our constant growth has made this practically quite difficult. We realised, as a board, that the only way to maintain the magic we would need to invest in an internet based tool that would effectively bring our consultants closer to the management team from anywhere in the world.
After careful evaluation iFACTORY has chosen to virtualise our organisation using Wrike.com Practical Project Management software. Using the inbuilt collaboration functionality we can be connected to our consultants constantly to get the ambient feedback on projects and support issues. We can proactively track projects and anticipate issues before they become risks to the client or the deployment team and effectively manage the communication loops to get the best result. This is allowing us, as a team, to make better decisions faster.
