“Does your industrial wireless networking portfolio unleash the full potential of important mobile applications? Wouldn’t you want to grow your business by offering your customers a high degree of uptime, ruggedised performance under the harshest conditions and the easiest, quickest installation on the market? By becoming a Rajant partner with Duxbury Networking, we’ll show you what it takes for you to secure new business and exceed your customers’ requirements, using a living network that allows you to enter any industrial networking opportunity with confidence,” says Teresa Huysamen, Wireless Business Unit Executive at Duxbury Networking, local distributor of Rajant technology.
Make-Make-Make-Never-Break
In traditional ‘break’ infrastructures, only one connection can exist between a node and an access point, so nodes must continually break and re-establish connectivity as they move between access points. Even if these networks can scan for and determine next best available paths prior to handoff, they cannot use their newly ‘made’ connection until the old connection is broken.
The Rajant Kinetic Mesh ‘Make-Make-Make-Never-Break’ connectivity approach to the ‘Break-Before-Make approach – employed by most WiFi, LTE, point-to-multipoint (PtMP) and meshing systems – stands as testimony to how Kinetic Mesh networks overcome the challenges and potential for failure that plague traditional wireless solutions.
“Rajant has the only broadband wireless solution able to satisfy industrial operators’ mission-critical demands with a significantly higher degree of reliability everywhere across their mobile environment. The solution provides extremely high levels of uptime, ruggedised performance even under the harshest conditions, together with the simplest and fastest installation on the market. Add to this ease of integration, in-built security encryption, scalability, total mobility and redundancy, and it’s the perfect solution for operators needing to support the demands of today’s dynamic industrial operations,” says Huysamen.
Network operators must look to wireless solutions that employ a totally new approach to meet growing business and mobility requirements, with a time-based focus on delivering continuous, redundant, unwavering access to critical communications and business data – anytime and anywhere, without fail.
Unlike traditional wireless offerings, all nodes in a Rajant Kinetic Mesh network are equal and all can direct traffic via multiple peer connections simultaneously. Rajant BreadCrumb wireless nodes, with patented InstaMesh networking software, can be used interchangeably as fixed or mobile nodes and can communicate peer-to-peer with any other fixed or mobile nodes.
This means there is no need for a controller node, which eliminates any single point of failure or bottlenecks. InstaMesh always uses the best path for transporting each packet between network endpoints to enable the fastest delivery time in that moment and provide continuous path switching for wireless and wired connections. Each link between nodes can have up to four frequencies over which traffic can be sent and received.
If, and when, a node moves, InstaMesh dynamically establishes new connections with its neighbouring nodes. The network does not have to break a connection before a new one is made. With InstaMesh, each node can maintain hundreds of peer connections simultaneously, making new connections whenever a peer comes into range and retaining each one as long as it is potentially useful to the mesh. If one path is not available or interference is identified, the information is dynamically redirected over a redundant available path, with the network automatically optimising itself as conditions naturally change.
