Channel Data has been appointed the exclusive, value-add distributor (VAD) for Trapeze Networks` mobility solutions in Africa.
Trapeze Networks, a leading provider of WLAN solutions, offers software-based WLAN planning and management, seamless core network integration and secure mobility.
Commenting on the appointment, Kees van Veenendaal, General Manager and Vice-President: Sales EMEA at Trapeze Networks, says: "Channel Data`s history and experience in distributing leading enterprise-based storage management to southern Africa provides them with the know-how to take Trapeze Networks to market.
"They also have a thorough understanding of key African challenges, which in turn positions us to work closely with local VARs in order to effectively design and deploy Trapeze solutions."
Trapeze Networks` complements Channel Data`s current data management solutions as it promotes continuous data access by corporate users, business units and other potential partners.
In conjunction with the appointment, Channel Data has also launched a focused business unit to handle networking solutions, with Mike Hamilton heading up the new unit.
"Trapeze Networks brings to organisations true second-generation WLANs and addresses important lifecycle management issues, thereby meeting the needs of customers that consider WLAN deployments as strategic solutions," Hamilton comments.
Already, Channel Data`s resources from all over the country, including Johannesburg, Cape Town and KwaZulu-Natal, have undergone Trapeze certification training.
The distributor also plans to introduce Trapeze sales and pre-sales training and education to its various channel partners.
Channel Data is fully supported by Trapeze Networks` EMEA operations for software solution design and quality assurance and is already proactively targeting and appointing system integrators and VARs to address the sub-Saharan African enterprise and wireless service provider marketplaces.
