Channel lacks green products

The channel is failing to keep up with demand from UK businesses for greener IT products, according to research from Siemens Financial Services, reports vnunet.com.

The "Our green and pleasant land" report, which polled 600 UK firms, claimed that 26% of respondents measure their carbon footprint, while 41% have implemented carbon emission reduction initiatives. In addition, 37% have invested in low-carbon or energy-efficient business equipment.

However, firms are being put off from investing any further, due to a lack of green products available and the initial cost of implementing a green , the report stated.

Time Domain reveals reseller programme

Time Domain unveiled a new channel programme for value added resellers (VARs) that want to deploy real-time location solutions using ultra-wideband (UWB) technology, says RFID Solutions Online.

and other RTLS approaches are being trialled in multiple settings for patient security and equipment tracking and utilisation applications.

Time Domain will demonstrate the Plus platform, and meet with prospective VARs at the Active RFID & RTLS Summit in Dallas, Texas, next month.

NetApp refocuses sales initiatives

In response to the company`s results in 2Q07, TBR said NetApp refocused its sales initiatives to target international markets and newly released products in 3Q07, says eChannel Line.

The result was a comeback in revenue to $792.2 million - up from $689.2 million in 2Q07, and a 21% increase from $652.5 million in 3Q06.

TBR said NetApp would align its financial strategy to focus on increasing revenue growth to drive net income going forward. The company would focus less on scaling back R&D and selling costs, and concentrate on expanding its international foothold and product design to increase its storage solutions market share.
