Check Point Software Technologies (NASDAQ: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, today announced the appointment of Doros Hadjizenonos as channel manager for southern Africa.
In his position, Hadjizenonos will drive the overall channel strategy and implementation for Check Point in South Africa and other SADC countries, with the objective of helping Check Point and its partners to grow revenue while ensuring customers get best-quality service from local Check Point resellers and distributors.
The demand for comprehensive security solutions that stretch across networks, data and endpoints is on the rise in South Africa and across southern African countries.
Regulatory requirements and increasing use of the Internet for business transactions are spurring demand for solutions. “Check Point has been selected by a number of key public and private sector customers over the past year in the region. My objective will be to ensure that we have the right partners and channel strategies in place in order to best service this growing market,” said Hadjizenonos.
Hadjizenonos has specialised in the IT security field since 1998. Through his previous positions as technical and product manager at leading South African resellers and distributors he has been widely exposed to Check Point's range of solutions. His experience includes several years' working as engineer and project manager for DataSecure, a Datatec subsidiary that was one of South Africa's first dedicated network security companies. Hadjizenonos then was managing director of VAD Africa, a value-added distributor focused on information security solutions. He became Check Point's product manager for the JSE-listed SecureData group after its acquisition of VAD Africa. Hadjizenonos holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of the Witwatersrand.
