CheckSec, SensePost sign agreement at Infosec 2013

Partnership deal brings simplified security vulnerability management to the enterprise.

CheckSec (www.checksec.com), a provider of vulnerability management technologies, and SensePost, (www.sensepost.com) an independent provider of expert information security services, today signed a partnership deal to make their industry-leading vulnerability assessment and management technologies available to clients under a single interface.

The agreement between the two companies will see SensePost's BroadView managed vulnerability scanning technology merge into the CheckSec Canopy platform. This development will allow users to even better organise and centrally control security testing data from diverse sources within a single management system.

"As a client of CheckSec ourselves, we have first-hand experience of Canopy and the value that it brings to the vulnerability management process. We are therefore really excited about the benefits we will be able to bring to our own clients, as a result of the integration of the technologies," said Charl van der Walt, MD, SensePost.

"By merging Canopy with BroadView, we can bring the full assessment cycle into one platform for our clients. This greatly simplifies the common vulnerability analysis and management headache organisations face, by providing a single platform to collect, assess, manage and track security across the business," said Dave Ryan, CEO of CheckSec.

CheckSec's Canopy platform provides a single management interface for organising and managing security assessment projects, and connects the multitude of security testing technologies used across the business. Canopy also facilitates integration with other business support tools, allowing for an integrated approach to security assessment and vulnerability management.

SensePost's BroadView technology works as an automated security scanner that monitors an organisation's infrastructure and applications. It performs vulnerability scans against all Internet-facing systems in order to immediately detect new threats that arise when configurations change or when new vulnerabilities are discovered.

CheckSec and SensePost will work closely together and with their clients, to help solve the problems companies face in understanding and managing the vast quantities of security-related data in their own organisations.
