Chevrolet gets sales team app
Chevrolet says it's the first automaker to pilot a sales app for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad which allows salespeople to help customers research trim levels, options and financing and search vehicles in dealer inventory, reports PR Newswire.
A nationwide roll-out to Chevrolet dealers is expected this fall.
The Chevrolet Dealer app features the entire line of Chevrolet cars, trucks and crossovers. It allows a salesperson to work with a customer to pick interior and exterior colours, search for a matching vehicle in the dealership's inventory and look up offers that can be applied to the purchase or lease.
Tech shoppers start online
Two-thirds of consumer electronics and computer shoppers start their research on the Web, but purchases are split evenly between online and stores, a new study finds, states Internet Retailer.
The research, consisting of an online focus group and a poll this spring of nearly 1 200 consumer electronics and computer shoppers, also finds laptops, notebook computers and televisions are the top products researched or purchased online.
Web monitoring firm comScore conducted the poll, which was sponsored by search marketing firms Searchandise Commerce and iProspect.
