China to launch satellite for Nigeria
China is to launch a commercial satellite for Nigeria, reports Xinhua news. The news site quotes Xu Dazhe, deputy GM of China Aerospace Science and Technology, as saying China will also cooperate with Venezuela in the same field.
He said China is interested in launching international commercial satellites and other operations for the "peaceful use of outer space".
Google opens Net booth at Heathrow
Google has installed an Internet booth for travellers at London`s Heathrow Airport, reports Teleclick.ca.
The booth, in the departure lounge at Terminal One, includes 10 Samsung laptops.
Google staff members will be stationed at the booth to answer questions and demonstrate a variety of the company`s product offerings, including GMail, Google Earth, Picasa, Google Mobile and the Google Toolbar.
Gates: No clear console winner until 2007
Microsoft chairman Bill Gates doesn`t expect to see the ultimate winner in the console wars decided before 2007, reports Gamesindustry.biz.
In an interview with Bloomberg, Gates said Microsoft`s second attempt at capturing the video game console market is spearheaded by the Xbox 360, which he described as "the hottest product we`ve ever had".
The original Xbox console, which launched after Sony`s PlayStation 2, failed to gain the market dominance Microsoft had hoped for - picking up only 18% of the console market.
