Inspur's chairman and CEO, Sun Pishu, says his company will explore setting up key businesses in Africa.

Chinese IT and cloud computing firm, Inspur, says strong support from governments has encouraged the company to explore business opportunities on the continent.

Inspur's chairman and CEO, Sun Pishu, says the company regards Africa as one of the key markets around the world. "The strong support from the government level, as well as Inspur's rich experience in informatisation construction and its advanced technology level are great opportunities, both for the local informatisation construction of Africa and for Inspur's own development."

Informatisation refers to the extent by which an economy or a society becomes information-based, that is, the increase in size of its information labour force. Inspur says it will further get involved in the informatisation construction of the continent and push forward interconnection of African countries.

According to Pishu, although Africa is still in the early stages of industrialisation and informatisation, in recent years there has been improvement in demand, which has seen the continent enjoy explosive growth.

It is the most pressing demand for African enterprises to strengthen the construction of information infrastructure and cloud computing, says Pishu.

Inspur, as well as the China's presidential delegation, recently attended the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) summit, in Johannesburg. As part of the summit, IT companies showcased their technologies and innovations at the China-Africa Equipment Industry Exhibition.

Inspur confirmed its intention to break into the African market and set up in key businesses such as cloud computing and big .

Speaking at the FOCAC summit, Chinese president Xi Jinping urged Inspur to extend its cloud computing products outside China and target the overseas market.

He said Inspur's core cloud computing products as well as its overall strength have contributed to the country's cloud computing, and that should encourage Inspur to extend overseas.
