CHM Vuwani, the end-to-end IT solutions provider, has signed a licensing deal for Microsoft Enterprise software with South African Airways, valued at R10 million over three years.
CHM Vuwani is the black empowerment initiative of one of SA`s largest, independent IT solutions companies, First Technology.
According to Sharon Dunne, CHM Vuwani branch manager, the deal was facilitated through EDS, SAA`s outsource partner.
"Because of the size of this deal, EDS required a Microsoft large account reseller (LAR) that was also a black empowerment company. CHM Vuwani, supported by First Technology as the LAR, met all these requirements and was awarded the tender to supply the software licences," explains Dunne.
John Spiegel, EDS client delivery executive, comments that the technology industry is increasingly moving to a collaborative approach to win important deals.
"The combination of EDS`s expertise with that of CHM Vuwani, whose association with First Technology makes it one of only seven Microsoft LARs in SA, has clinched this valuable deal for our companies," he says.
