Choice Technologies is 3Com`s Gold Partner of the Year

Johannesburg, 15 Oct 2002

Choice Technologies, a leading IT systems integration and solutions company, was awarded 3Com South Africa`s inaugural Gold Partner of the Year Award at a special ceremony held at Mmabatho recently.

The company`s sales executive, Mark Morey, also walked off with the Best Sales Person of the Year Award, following a record year in revenue terms.

"This has been an outstanding year for us and we have grown our market share substantially," commented Semela Tseka, CEO of Choice Technologies, who accepted the Gold Partner award at a gala dinner hosted by 3Com to mark the conclusion of its annual partner conference in SA.

"While this award is a tremendous tribute to all the hard work, the entire company has put in to building our business; we are not a company to rest on our laurels," said Tseka.

"We`re already putting new processes and plans in place to manage our growth more effectively, further develop our in-house skills, and ensure that our customers enjoy maximum benefits from our implementations."

Tseka also referred to the implementation of new training programmes designed to upgrade skills at all levels within his company on a continuous basis.

He said Choice Technologies has also honed its solutions design, project management and post-implementation support methodologies and processes.

"Choice Technologies has grown over the past five years from being a four-man Johannesburg-based operation to a 200-strong nationwide business representing a range of leading global IT product suppliers," he said.

"Now our goal is to consolidate on that success by creating a solid environment on which to base our future growth. This will ensure that our business success is achievable on a sustainable basis."

Morey`s sales successes in the past year have been heavily focused on government and quasi-government markets.

For example, the Department of Water Affairs and Forestry (DWAF) recently renewed its contract with Choice Technologies for the on-going supply, implementation and support of 3Com switches on its local area network (LAN) environments throughout SA.

In accepting his award, Morey noted that the gigabit LAN market had been particularly buoyant over the past year. "Most of our larger clients are now moving up to high-speed environments.

"Our relationship with the DWAF is typical of our approach in this market. In addition to ensuring the highest service and support levels, much of our success can be attributed to the relationship we`ve built up with them over the last few years," he added.
