Control Instruments is pressing ahead with the formation of a European business.
The group has appointed one of its directors, Rod Forrester, to head up the establishment of a sales, engineering support and logistics business.
Forrester has been the CEO and MD of subsidiary CI-Shurlok for the past 17 years.
Control Instruments CEO Richard Friedman first disclosed the plan earlier this month at the release of the group`s annual results.
He said the decision was the result of the rapid integration of local original equipment manufacturer (OEM) automotive companies into the global supply chains and global manufacturing operations of their international parent companies.
It was necessary for Control Instruments to have staff and support facilities closer to the design and engineering centres of the global OEMs. This would put it in a position to win an increasing share of business.
The establishment of the operation is scheduled to be completed by the end of July.
