NSS Consulting has added the Cobit Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) programme to its portfolio of training and education services.
CISA, says NSS Consulting Director Lynda Odendaal, is regarded as a global standard by the authoritative IS Audit and Control Association, and is aimed at information systems audit and security professionals.
Alfred Seala, who has for some years consulted to a large number of corporates on IT governance, has been appointed by NSS to head the new initiative.
Stressing the need for professionals to register soon for the forthcoming CISA review programme, Seala said: "Possessing a CISA designation underlines the holder`s proficiency in this increasingly important facet of business. It is the basis for measurement in the profession, which has a growing demand for people with IS audit, control and security skills."
CISA, he added, had become the internationally recognised certification programme.
To earn a CISA designation, candidates must complete examinations, adhere to the association`s Code of Professional Ethics requirements, and submit five years` proof of experience as a professional IS auditing, control or IT security practitioner.
In some cases, Seala said, substitution and waivers of experience can be obtained.
Seala urges candidates to register at www.isaca.org or visit www.nssconsulting.co.za for further information.
