Cisco integrates programme

Cisco announced it is incorporating the Linksys Small-Business Channel Partner Programme services and assets into the award-winning Cisco Channel Partner Programme, says IT Online.

This process includes bringing the Linksys Business Series products into the Cisco SME portfolio and providing Cisco channel with access to a more diverse solution, set to allow for more choice and increased revenue potential.

The SME channel and technology integration represents a broader company focus on the SME opportunity, with an increased focus on the small-business segment of the SME market.

Change confronts electronics market

The consumer electronic retail market is growing and shrinking due to changing consumer expectations; those who are to survive will have to become more innovative than before to stay competitive, says Channel Web.

Tim Herbert, senior director of market research for the Consumer Electronics Association, spoke at the Retail Vision Conference. He said the consumer electronic market place will expand as more consumers are willing to consider alternatives to buying electronics from traditional retailers.

Herbert added that more manufacturers are selling directly to the consumer and retailers with their own private label goods selling to the consumers.
