Cisco to unveil servers
Cisco Systems' announcement that it will unveil a line of servers is drawing mixed reactions from solution providers, as they wait to see how the networking giant's move affects the overall data centre market, says Channel Insider.
For years, Cisco has dominated the data networking market, making nearly $40 billion a year in revenue, mostly from the sale of routers and switches.
Recently, however, virtualisation technology has disrupted a historically staid market, and has opened up new avenues for companies such as Cisco and virtualisation pioneer VMware, to allow for a completely new vision for companies' data centres.
ILS offers global-channel programme
ILS Technology, an enabler of intelligence through connectivity, recently unveiled a new global-channel programme to allow more partners worldwide to resell its award-winning deviceWise products, as well as the company's new Virtual Service Infrastructure remote-services offerings, writes BusinessWire.
The programme builds on the success that large and small resellers and system integrators have demonstrated by solving their customers' device-to-enterprise challenges with deviceWise, and their remote-management challenges with VSI.
By providing intelligent, secure and vendor-neutral connectivity between the plant floor and enterprise, the deviceWise software framework enables manufacturers to make business decisions based on real-time data.
