Citrix Systems today announced that Citrix Access Gateway is in the Forrester Wave Secure Sockets Layer Virtual Private Network (SSL VPN) Appliances report for the fourth quarter of 2006.
Forrester Research placed Citrix Access Gateway solidly in the Leader category, giving the highest score for Citrix's strengths in reliability, performance, monitoring and reporting, as well as revenue growth and channel partner depth.
Forrester provides an overview of the evolution of the SSL VPN market, from a onetime means to provide e-mail to remote workers to today's sophisticated access method to applications for travelling employees, partners, suppliers and vendors. SSL VPNs offer a valuable remote access alternative to protect against natural and man-made workforce disruptions.
The Citrix Access Gateway Enterprise Edition was evaluated across 57 criteria and against seven other SSL VPN vendors.
"Citrix has been one of the fastest rising SSL VPN appliance vendors," says Rob Whiteley, senior analyst at Forrester Research. "Its solution - with technology from several acquisitions - has culminated in one of the highest performing solutions."
The report goes on to recommend that companies should: "Include Citrix on your shortlist if you're pushing bandwidth-hungry apps that require low latency."
Citrix Access Gateway is a comprehensive range of SSL VPN solutions that make secure application access easy for all organisations, from small businesses to the most demanding global enterprises.
