Citrix outlines service-oriented IT offering

Citrix has outlined its strategy to help organisations move towards a more service-oriented approach to delivering IT, borrowing from the Web rather than traditional enterprise infrastructure, reports vnunet.

The firm also announced technical previews of several products, including its Dazzle enterprise storefront, XenClient virtualisation for laptops and a virtual Netscaler appliance.

Citrix chief executive Mark Templeton said at the company's iForum event in Edinburgh that the 'consumerisation' of IT is the way forward, and that companies need to move towards a self-service model for staff to access services.

BPC intros multi-channel platform

BPC Banking Technologies, a recognised provider of e-payment and retail solutions, has unveiled a software solution - SmartVista Media-extension, states Finextra.

The system provides multi channel online customer support via Internet and self-service devices with the use of modern media technologies.

The technology is intended for the integration of remote delivery channels - self-service devices, Internet systems and Internet shops - with contact centres and allows the clients to choose from a variety of communication means including video and audio connection and text messages.

Triton unveils remote key transport

Off-premise ATM leader Triton has released a Remote Key Transport, or RKT, solution, which allows distributors to save money by loading keys remotely, says ATM Marketplace.

Triton, the first ATM manufacturer to bring this cost-savings solution and feature to the off-premise space, began deploying RKT in the UK in March.

Triton's RKT solution will be available in Canada and the US this summer and in Australia and SA before the end of the year.
