Citrix is still looking for a new country manager for SA, after Nick Keene moved on from the company at the end of March.

James Stevenson, area VP for the UK, Ireland and SA region, says: “Citrix has been actively recruiting for a new country manager for SA since Nick Keene moved on to pursue new opportunities.”

At the moment, says Stevenson, he has taken responsibility for the office in SA, providing support and direction to the local Citrix team. “The company has also established new reporting lines within the UK, Ireland and SA region for additional support to its channel partner base,” he adds.

Keene says he left the company at the end of March and is exploring other opportunities. While there are no ill feelings between him and the company, he felt constrained in his role as there were only seven Citrix staff members in SA, notes Keene.

“The growth has to be organic, it needs more resources, then it will flourish,” he adds.

The company did not hit its $8 million sales target in 2009, as a result of the recession, but made target in the previous year.

Keene says if it had more people resources, the business could take better advantage of the growing move towards computing in SA.

Citrix is a global player in the virtualisation space, which is estimated to be worth $65 billion in the next three years.
