Chris Norton, country manager of Citrix Systems SA, has resigned from the company, to take up the position of regional manager of VMware`s sub-Saharan operation as from 15 September.

"After seven years at Citrix, it is time for me to find new challenges. I`ve met my goals and business objectives at Citrix, and hopefully I will do for VMware what I did for Citrix," says Norton.

"Citrix is a fantastic organisation with a very bright future and the last seven years have been some of the most fulfilling years of my life.

"I will miss the Citrix team who will no doubt take the business to new heights and I know that the operation I am stepping out of is solid and in very good hands."

Nick Keene, Citrix`s acting country manager, says: "We are of course sad to see Chris leave the organisation and wish him the very best in his future endeavours. However, we are confident we will find someone in the short-term that will be able to take over.

"We are in the process of identifying a suitable candidate to replace Chris Norton. We have been in contact with a number of sources to find somebody who can help drive sales in the South African market."

VMware is a wholly-owned subsidiary of EMC, which supplies virtualisation for x86-compatible computers.
