Citrix`s virtual workplace vision wins Excellence in Technology Award at Midsize Enterprise Summit

Citrix access portal and application server software receive top kudos from summit attendees for second consecutive year
Johannesburg, 17 May 2002

Citrix Systems, Inc, a global leader in virtual workplace software and services, today announced that its vision of the virtual workplace - where instead of going to your office, the office follows you - has won the Midsize Enterprise Innovation Award for Excellence in Technology.

Chirs Norton, channel manager for Citrix South Africa, explains: "Citrix`s virtual workplace solution, comprised of Citrix MetaFrame XP application serving software, Citrix NFuse Elite access portal server, Citrix NFuse Classic access portal software, and Citrix Secure Gateway (CSG), was selected from all participating technology vendors by more than 250 senior IT executives who attended Midsize Enterprise Summit East."

This is the second consecutive year that Citrix has received this award from Midsize Enterprise Summit attendees.

"We are pleased to present Citrix with the Excellence in Technology award," said Dennis Masella, Vice President of Vision Events. "Citrix`s vision for the future of midsize enterprise solutions with its virtual workplace software clearly resonated with the CIOs and IT directors attending Midsize Enterprise Summit."

The Excellence in Technology Award is based on a company`s excellence in technological development and application. Emphasis is placed on product and service features, the ability to work with existing standards, and the degree to which the company`s products contribute to the development of future midsize enterprise solutions. Vendors are nominated and winners selected based on confidential ballots completed by IT executive guests during the final Boardroom Sessions of the Summit.

"Midsize Enterprise Summit provided an excellent opportunity for us to communicate the Citrix vision of simple, secure application and information access to key IT leaders," said David Jones, senior vice president, corporate marketing and development for Citrix. "We are honoured that the attendees recognised Citrix`s innovative approach to the future of software, which allows enterprise organisations to create a true virtual workplace." Midsize Enterprise Summit is produced by Vision Events, a Gartner (NYSE: IT and ITB) company.
