Claris, Profitect
Claris Solutions, a consulting firm specialising in the retail industry, will be a US consulting and implementation partner of Profitect Technologies, says Retail Solutions Online.
Claris will work closely with Profitect Technologies to implement its product line, the Profitect Suite, a profit increase solution driving benefits through loss reduction, fraud detection and operational compliance assurance.
By joining with Profitect, Claris Solutions will enhance its capabilities to drive significantly improved bottom line performance for retailers.
Online retail set to grow
Growing businesses are still discovering the benefits of using online retail facilities for their products and services, states Business Strata.
Richard Dodd, spokesperson for the British Retail Consortium (BRC), suggested that a number of people are only just acquiring the technology to shop online, so it is set to remain popular for a while.
He added that online retail is continuing to grow despite a relative decline in general shopping habits overall.
Standards group names co-chairs
The Association for Retail Technology Standards has selected as board co-chairs for 2009 Grant Anderson, senior director of application development for Academy Sports + Outdoors, and Perry Kramer, VP, sales operations, corporate, and distributed solutions for BJ's Wholesale Club, reports Internet Retailer.
Anderson has been a board member for many years and began working with the association 14 years ago on the Data Model Committee. He has also implemented the association's standards in three retail companies.
Perry has been involved with the organisation for more than 10 years with the Data Model Committee and XML work teams. Most recently he participated in development of the PCI best practices initiatives.
