ClearContext adds PM tools

The latest version of ClearContext, a Microsoft Outlook plug-in that is designed to help users organise their inbox, has been released, states Web Worker Daily.

ClearContext Pro v5.1 adds task and project management capabilities, as well as replacing ClearContext's original dashboard view with an unobtrusive sidebar.

The functionality in the ClearContext Pro v5.1 should help in three main areas: e-mail organisation, task management and project management.

NoteVault intros multi-lingual construction reporting

NoteVault has added the capability to handle multilingual speech input from users on its construction reporting platform, states Al Bawaba.

Users can now use their native language to speak their field notes, and NoteVault automatically translates and transcribes it into English. Daily construction reports are compiled and displayed in English regardless of which languages went into reporting events and conditions on the job.

“Supporting multiple languages has always been in the plan, and we're happy that we now have the ability to support the technology and resources needed to do it right,” says Peter Lasensky, NoteVault's CEO.

US govt overhauls IT projects

Big changes may be coming to the way the US federal government handles information technology projects, writes The Washington Post.

The White House's Office of Management and Budget (OMB) put on hold many programmes last week as part of a wide-ranging plan to overhaul the process.

OMB director Peter Orszag issued the memos, which said certain projects are notoriously sluggish and costly and often fail to deliver a successful product. The memos did not identify individual projects, but the Department of Veterans Affairs confirmed the Financial and Logistics Integrated Technology Enterprise was one affected programme.
