PinPoint Software has announced Version 4.0 of ClickNet Professional, the network desktop management software that simplifies identification, resolution of network problems and management of desktop computing assets.
The new version includes a key new adaptive auditing feature. Where most products can only identify a proportion of installed software, ClickNet V4.0 guarantees virtually 100% accuracy, achieved as a result of its dynamically evolving software dictionary.
PinPoint products are represented in South Africa by Server Tools.
ClickNet Professional 4.0 also provides multi-user capabilities, plus an integrated visual interface that automatically inventories and diagrams PC LANs. This allows concurrent use of ClickNet, with lock-out protection to prevent multiple editing.
An additional user benefit of ClickNet Professional V4.0 is the ability to plug into the ClickNet Y2K software and hardware compliance online resource centre.

Other features and business benefits of ClickNet Professional 4.0 include:
- Expanded software dictionary and image library, with 6 000 individual software package entries for complete and accurate network inventory tracking. Updated daily, this figure is set to double by the end of 1998. The image library also includes 3 500 images for accurate diagram generation.
