China employs ECM
Vobile has released its VideoDNA content management system with Pomoho.com, a video sharing Web site in China, reports Earth Times.
The VideoDNA content identification and management system analyses each video clip uploaded to Pomoho, before it becomes available to Pomoho's user community, and applies business rules according to rights holders' specifications.
The new infrastructure also includes copyright infringement control and targeted video advertising. China's Pomoho.com offers three million video titles in its online library; including user-generated and professionally created video clips.
CBS allows user-generated content
CBS is implementing Microsoft's Silverlight, to bring user-generated content to the Web sites of its owned-and-operated stations, reports Broadcasting and Cable.
The station group will use Silverlight, along with the Microsoft Expression Media Encoder, to give consumers the ability to upload video, images, audio and text submissions to station Web sites. "This is not about creating a portal to compete with YouTube or MySpace," says Jonathan Leess, president and GM of CBS Television Stations Digital Media Group.
"It is a user-generated content tool, and we're going to use the Silverlight platform to build an actual application. The key to this product is it's a seamless experience for users to create, upload and edit content into a portal that is connected by the Internet [to our Web sites]," he says.
