Coast Data Systems, a Kenyan-based distributor of cabling, networking and communication products, has been appointed a full 3Com distributor in East Africa.
Coast Data Systems was established in 1996 as a focused distributor in the Africa region and has since inception carried the 3Com brand. 3Com has traditionally enjoyed a major market share in Kenya based on brand recognition, price, performance and warranty support through the channel.
"With the release of Internet-related products, stackable and modular switches and wireless technology, 3Com is poised to capture a wider share of the region`s networking market," says Chris van Niekerk, country manager, 3Com sub-Saharan Africa.
"Coast Data is the perfect partner for us as they conduct a significant amount of cross-border business in Tanzania, Ethiopia, Uganda and other countries."
