Cognos has strengthened its partnership with Siebel Systems, a provider of eBusiness applications software, through the successful validation of Cognos DecisionStream and Siebel eBusiness Applications.
"This best of breed solution strengthens customer acquisition and retention, improves business relationships, and increases top-line growth for joint Cognos and Siebel Systems` customers," says Pat O`Leary, Cognos Vice President of Strategic Alliances.
The Siebel Validation Program, which evaluates and documents integrated third-party solutions, put Cognos DecisionStream through rigorous technical scrutiny before granting it validation.
"Cognos is uniquely positioned to meet enterprise requirements of delivering a co-ordinated understanding of the customer," he adds. "Cognos customer intelligence solutions provide organisations with a co-ordinated view of and access to massive amounts of customer information from multiple touchpoints, such as order entry and call centres, regardless of how and where the information is stored.
"In addition, users can merge this customer information with click stream data or data from providers that deliver demographic and lifestyle information to obtain a complete customer understanding," says O`Leary. "Using Cognos, organisations can analyse this customer information, isolate subsets of customer characteristics, and create profiles so they can focus marketing campaigns, attract new customers and retain the most profitable existing customers.
"An effective customer intelligence strategy must do more than give global enterprises the power to uncover massive amounts of customer data. Enterprises must be able to obtain deep insight into the data via analysis," continues O`Leary. "Cognos customer intelligence solutions maximise customer information by uniting all customer data sources from across the enterprise and applying industry-leading business intelligence for a company-wide understanding of the customer relationship."
Cognos DecisionStream complements and extends the data integration and analytical capabilities of Siebel eBusiness Applications by leveraging the open Siebel architecture. When used in conjunction, the Cognos Enterprise Business Intelligence Templates (EBIT) and Siebel eBusiness Applications solution provides data integration and BI modelling capabilities. The Cognos business intelligence services can be used to analyse data for Siebel eBusiness Applications and create multidimensional reports, ad hoc queries, scorecards, and visualisation.
Siebel Systems provides an integrated family of eBusiness applications software enabling multichannel sales, marketing, and customer service systems to be deployed over the Web, call centres, field, reseller channels, retail, and dealer networks. The integrated Siebel Systems and Cognos solution helps organisations turn their customer information into meaningful customer intelligence that impacts revenue, profitability and customer satisfaction.
"Siebel Systems` outstanding technology and market leadership have significantly impacted the way companies do business," says O`Leary. "With the strengthening of our partnership through this validation, Cognos and Siebel Systems further bridge the gap between business processes to ensure that customers, partners, and suppliers are making consistent, co-ordinated decisions to grow the business and strengthen eBusiness relationships," he adds.
"We want the broadest possible audience to benefit from Siebel eBusiness Applications. By integrating Siebel eBusiness Applications and Cognos DecisionStream, our joint customers have immediate access to multiple sources of information that will help them quickly and accurately serve their customers," said Michael Straub, Technical Director of Alliances at Siebel Systems. "By providing an efficient way to utilise Siebel eBusiness Applications in conjunction with other applications, the integrated solution allows users to view customer relationships as a component of their overall business operations."
