JBA, the global business software supplier, has formed a partnership with Cognos, the business intelligence software supplier. This will enhance JBA`s Advanced Information Management Solutions (AIMS) portfolio, which provides companies with simple access to enterprise wide information. The partnership is an integral part of JBA`s strategy to incorporate best of breed business intelligence solutions into its JBA System 21 software.
"JBA chose Cognos because of its extensive world-wide support network and the multi lingual capabilities of its product range", commented Bruckner de Villiers, the Managing Director of JBA South Africa. "This partnership will benefit customers who operate within different countries but still want to deploy one IT solution. Customers can reduce the cost of ownership by opting to access Powerplay, the Cognos On Line Analytical Processing (OLAP) tool, and Impromptu the Cognos report writing tool, via the Internet", he added.
JBA has developed Headstart packs that enable rapid implementation of the Cognos tools. Headstart packs provide a pre-programmed interface to the JBA System 21 database from the Cognos tools along with sample Cognos reports for JBA System 21.
The Cognos package consists of Impromptu, a PC based report writing tool; Powerplay, a powerful OLAP product; 4 Thought a forecasting tool; and Scenario, a data mining application.
