Xerox Channels Group (XCG) has announced the release of the Xerox WorkCentre 480cx, a colour multifunctional device (MFD).
Angie Samuel, marketing manager at XCG SA, says the MFD has been designed with the small business and home office customer in mind. "The WorkCentre 480cx combines the services of five normally separate devices into a single compact unit at a fraction of the cost of buying five separate products," she says.
"The MFD is able to provide a company with a valuable range of services while reducing overall cost. The 480cx can fax, colour scan, photocopy, print and PC faxes."
The peripheral prints up to eight pages per minute in black and four in full colour at resolutions of 1200 x 1200 dpi. It can also copy in black and white, producing up to 99 copies from a single scan while the fax option is available out of the box and does not require a PC.
"The 480cx can scan documents, scaling from 25 to 200 percent, which will allow users to import images into business presentations and reports, creating a more professional look and feel to company documents," adds Samuel.
The Xerox WorkCentre 480cx also bundles two software packages, TextBridge PRO 98 which maintains document layout throughout the scanning process and eliminates the need for retyping and reformatting and a full version of Pagis PRO, an optical character recognition application.
The machine can perform two tasks at once, such as printing and faxing. "The WorkCentre 480cx will allow SOHO professionals to complete their work faster, more efficiently and more economically," concludes Samuel.
