CommerceQuest`s enableNet will take top honors in the E-commerce category, to be announced today at IBM`s Technical Developer Conference. Winning solutions from a total of 444 nominations in nine product categories are being announced at Solutions, the IBM Technical Developer Conference, being held in Las Vegas. "We`re extremely pleased to be honored with this award," said Colin Osborne, Chairman of CommerceQuest Inc.

"Having our solutions acknowledged by IBM as outstanding in the E-commerce category not only lends credibility to our products and services through their endorsement, but also showcases the value of our work among high profile peer audiences." enableNet is CommerceQuest`s subscription-based infrastructure solution that allows seamless integration and information transfer among members of a given B2B exchange. enableNet is an end-to-end managed service that leverages the strengths of IBM`s MQSeries to provide users any-to-any integration - any shared across any application, hardware or network - with assured delivery over a dependable and secure operating environment. "CommerceQuest`s enableNet is an innovative use of IBM products that allows old and new economy players to engage in full-spectrum B2B e-commerce," said Bob Timpson, General Manager, IBM Developer Relations.

"CommerceQuest is an industry leader in B2B e-commerce and we are pleased they have chosen IBM as a foundation for their offering." According to Osborne, CommerceQuest recently completed a performance benchmark in which enableNet executed complex e-commerce business processes in less than a second. In the test, a Net Market Maker`s purchase order in extensible markup language (XML) format was sent, transformed and validated through enableNet to a value-added network (VAN) mailbox of a Global 2000 trading partner in their required electronic data interchange (EDI) format. The results demonstrated that enableNet is capable of supporting millions of e-commerce transactions per day, whether they are in XML, EDI or other formats. "Successful purchase order translation between trading partners is just one example of the business process capabilities of enableNet," explained Osborne. "This benchmark provides relevant data showing the strength of enableNet as the high-volume integration backbone solution enabling the explosive growth of the global B2B industry." In addition to its recognition by the Solutions Excellence Awards, CommerceQuest was recently honored by IBM in becoming a member of the AS/400e Solution Team for Extreme Business. CommerceQuest`s solutions join the program in the B2B Team, which is a premier group of applications and services that enable businesses to extend the value of their core applications to the web and improve internal and external communications and information exchange throughout the supply chain.
