CommerceQuest`s VAR search bears fruit

Johannesburg, 08 May 2001

CommerceQuest has appointed Centurion-based AST`s Enterprise Solutions Management subsidiary as its first value-added channel partner.

Speaking of the appointment, CommerceQuest`s Sales and Marketing Manager, Alex Steyn said that AST has a strong presence in the enterprise market, especially with integration products. "This is an environment in which CommerceQuest`s EnableNet Business Process Integrator is already established worldwide as a key success driver."

"There is a very strong focus on the integration market in South Africa," commented Steyn. "With their established presence in the marketplace, AST will be able to add significant value to the product."

AST`s GM, Business Integration, Geoff Hardwick, added that AST has a specific mandate from CommerceQuest to add value, rather than replace systems. "About 70% of South African enterprise system users also use IBM`s MQ series messaging systems and it is these organisations that are most likely to embrace CommerceQuest`s integration products."

"With enterprise system users increasingly rolling-out e-commerce solutions, integration of legacy and these new applications is fundamental.

The resulting focus on CommerceQuest`s EnableNet is a trend already well established in the US and fast gaining ground here in South Africa," adds Hardwick.

In partnership with CommerceQuest, AST will also assume responsibility for training in EnableNet implementation. "We have entered into a loose partnership with AST, where CommerceQuest will supply resources and AST, the training infrastructure," concludes Steyn.

CommerceQuest is based in Craighall Park, Johannesburg. Further enquiries should be addressed to Alex Steyn on (011) 447 4701.
