Comodo unveils VPN solution

Comodo Security Solutions has released EasyVPN, a solution which assists enterprises in creating and securing a virtual private network (VPN) between staff, third-party resources and customers, reports TMCnet.

It allows commonly accessed documents to be stored, edited, saved and sorted on a single computer, and is seen as a simple alternative to setting up select and exclusive local area networks.

Comod claims that an important part of the solution is its secure instant messenger client that permits chats and transfer of digital data via PC-to-PC without any security concerns.

EFI, a provider of digital printing solutions, and Ikon Office Solutions, a Ricoh company, have unveiled the Ikon DocSend Server, which can convert multi-function printers into document capture and distribution devices, says Consumer Electronics.

With Ikon DocSend Server, any file can be captured and converted into a Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, or Adobe PDF file for editing, reformatting, archiving or distribution.

John Henze, vice-president of marketing for EFI, says: “In partnership with Ikon, EFI is taking digital document capture and distribution to a new level, putting easy-to-use scan, e-mail and other functions right on the multi-function printers control panel, right at the fingertips of all users.”
