Compaq has agreed to part ways amicably with Mustek, says Henry Ferreira, MD of Compaq South Africa.
"The termination of Mustek`s distribution agreement is purely a business decision. The channel is, and will always remain, open to the company for any future opportunities that may arise between the companies.
"Compaq`s reseller channel is an important facet of our business and as such, we ensure that we work in conjunction with our resellers in developing the Compaq brand in SA."
"Mustek, in a strategic business move, has decided to stop distributing Compaq`s high volume products and focus on our own Mecer brand," says David Kan, CEO of Mustek.
"Compaq`s PC range comprises less than 5% of Mustek`s offering and thus does not play a pivotal role in our business strategy."
