The next generation in desktop PCs for business has come to port - the award-winning CompaqEvo D500 ultra-slim desktop is now available from Tarsus Technologies, the value-add distribution arm of JSE-listed MB Technologies.
Recipient of both the 2001 Best of Comdex "Best Desktop PC" and 2002 Best of CES "Best Computer" awards, the new Evo D500 ultra-slim desktop, "offers the most innovative and affordable combination of features, flexibility, and manageability for business customers," says Terence Barter, Compaq product manager at Tarsus Technologies.
Weighing just over 5kg, 75% smaller and 50% quieter than the average desktop PC, the new Evo D500 is sold with an Intel Celeron 1.3GHz processor, up to 512MB SDRAM and 20GB hard drive.
"The small, flexible form factor of the Evo D500 is as close to perfect as we have found. It easily fits in environments where space limitation is a critical factor, yet is powerful enough for almost any user," continues Barter.
The Evo D500 ultra-slim desktop is also available with an optional legacy module for maximum flexibility, and also incorporates Compaq`s innovative MultiPort wireless technology (802.11b or Bluetooth) and hot-swappable MultiBay storage solution. This allows the PC to evolve as technologies change or mature, thereby extending the life of the PC.
"Customers deploying both the new Evo D500 ultra-slim desktop and Evo notebooks can realise additional cost savings through shared modules and simplified IT management with fewer pieces of equipment," concludes Barter.
