Comparex Africa received a hat trick of awards at the 2003 Cisco Partner Summit, including the most sought-after award for best Tier One Partner of the Year. The second award was for the best IP Telephony Partner in Africa. To complete the hat trick, Cisco awarded the Cisco Product Champion of the Year Award to Comparex Africa`s Cisco product manager, Claudius Barnardo.
According to Cisco`s Channel Account Manager, Matthew McKay: "Comparex Africa has contributed substantially to the growth of Cisco in the South African and Africa marketplace. Comparex exceeded their annual target by an astonishing 146% in what was a very challenging year."
Barnardo, Cisco`s Product Champion of the Year, was very delighted by the recognition from Cisco for Comparex closing the largest IP telephony deal of the year, worth $3.5 million.
He said he foresees considerable growth for IP telephony in SA, mirroring the success achieved in Africa. Claudius concluded: "Our close strategic partnership with Cisco will assist us in ensuring that these successes will continue into the future."
