Comparex Africa, through data centre specialist Persetel Q Vector, has become a certified Oracle partner. The partnership will see Oracle supporting Comparex in its Oracle sales and marketing activities, and will also open up its online Oracle Partner Network support and management services to Comparex.
For clients, the immediate benefits of the deal include access to Comparex`s certified skills levels as an integrator and provider of Oracle software, solutions and applications, says Comparex.
"Oracle and Persetel Q Vector share the same approach of selling solutions rather than products, which drives true integration of disparate systems and platforms. As a result, our customers can evolve at their own pace, leveraging their existing IT investments for maximum return," said Isabel Wiehahn, Product Manager - Software at Persetel Q Vector.
"In the first couple of months we`ve already had several Oracle proposals on the table for various customers, in locations ranging from Bryanston to Ethiopia, with numerous other opportunities in the pipeline."
Marc Gower, marketing director at Oracle South Africa, said "Comparex is a strategic business partner that we can go to market with with the fullest confidence. We have similar ways of thinking and are aggressive in achieving our goals.
"By formalising our long-standing relationship Oracle will be able to throw its weight behind Comparex on all levels - technical, marketing, sales, support and management."
Comparex is one of the biggest IT solutions integrators in South Africa; Oracle the second-biggest software company in the world. Comparex already has more than 430 people with Oracle skills in various divisions and groups within the company, and last year sold several million rands worth of Oracle business. The company says that it will now market Oracle more aggressively both locally and in Africa, where it already has a significant client base.
